Kausani in Uttaranchal is
known as the " Switzerland of India". Standing
1890 mts. above the sea level, Kausani is nature's own reserve. Even the
father of the nation, Mahatma Gandhi had contemplated on the beauty of
Kausani.
Several snow- capped peaks stand in a stately row, over 300 kms. in
length, shining against the azure sky making the horizon as seen from
Kausani and enviable spectacle. The glory of the snow crowned Himalayan
range reaches its pinnacle when the sunrays turn them into crimson and
gold.
Several snow capped peaks such as Bunder Poonch, Chaukamba, Neel Kant, Badrinath, Kedarnath, triple peaks of Trishul, pyramid shaped peak of Nanda Devi, the pole shaped Nanda Kot, five peaks of Panchachuli and many more are visible from this heavenly land of Kausani.

What to do
Relax in the cool environs of Kausani and go for long mountain walks taking in the beauty of the wonderful Himalayas. The Anashakti Ashram is renowned for its association with Mahatma Gandhi, the Father of the Nation.
You can also visit the temples of Baijnath (17km), Jageshwar (80 km) and Bageshwar(40 km) which are nearby and famous for their sculptures and revered by the Hindus especially the Shiva worshippers.
